Riding on a bus
(speech)

Nahráno: 17.11. 1964, Playhouse Theatre, Manchester
Odvysíláno: 26.11. 1964, Top gear
Producent: Bernie Andrews

Brian: Before we hear another song, fellows, there is a few things I'd like to ask you. First of all, do you ever get tired of being Beatles?
All: (big yawns)
Paul: We don't think so, really.
Brian: You don't ever think that?
Paul: Just occasionally you get cheesed off with people writing rubbish about you, which you get often.
John: Yeah, I agree with that. I've had a divorce and half a dozen kids.
Brian: Now what do you...eh well, I mean, doesn't ...isn't this a big sort of drag to go around explaining to your wife that you're not divorced and all that sort of things?
John: No, she knows I'm not divorced cause I keep seeing her ever day, you see.
Brian: Yes, a point. but what about the simpler things of life, like...eh...
Paul: Like riding a bus?
Brian: Yeh, or going to just about any restaurant you.
Paul: Well yeh, you miss those sort of things.
John: we go to certain ones.
George: And we go to ones where the people there are so snobby, they're the type who pretend they don't know us, so we have a good time cause they pretend they don't know us.
Paul: Joe's cafe!
Brian: Yeh, that figures.
Paul: Joe's cafe! Social statement that, you know.
George: It is.

hard working at the mill

too much monkey business
for me to be involved in.

Salesman talking to me
trying to run me up a creek
say you can buy it, go and try it
you can pay me next week.

Too much monkey business ....

Blond-haired, good-looking
trying to get me hooked
want me to marry get a home
settle down write a book.

Too much monkey business ....

Been to Yokohama
been fighting in the war
army bunk, army chow
army clothes, army car.

Too much monkey business ....

Same thing every day
getting up, going to school
no need in me complaining
my objection's overruled.

Too much monkey business ....

Working in the filling station
too many tasks
wipe the windows check the tires
check the oil dollar gas!

Too much monkey business ...

oh keep your hands off my baby
boy, you get it through your head
that girl is mine.

I don't mind if you lend my clothes
but you will be in touch
there is somethin' that you get straight
there's one thing you don't touch.

Keep your hands ...

Keep your hands ...

Oh keep your hands off my baby

Just one kiss and I'll go
don't hide the tears that don't show
as the June light turns to moonlight
I'll be on my way.

To where the winds don't blow
and golden rivers flow
this way will I go.

They were right I was wrong
true love didn't last long
as the June light turns to moonlight
I'll be on my way, hey.

To where the winds don't blow
and golden rivers flow
this way will I go.

They were right I was wrong
true love didn't last long

Young blood
(Leiber-Stoller-Pomus)

Nahráno: 1.6. 1963, BBC Paris Theatre, Londýn
Odvysíláno: 11.6. 1963, Pop go the Beatles
Producent: Terry Henebery

I saw her standing on a corner
a yellow ribbon in her hair
I couldn't saw myself from falling
look there, look there
look there, look there
young blood, young blood, young blood
I can't get you out of my mind.

I took one look and I was fractured
I tried to walk but I was lame
I tried to talk but I just stuttered
what's your name, what's your name
what's your name, what's your name
young blood, young blood, young blood
I can't get you out of my mind.

What crazy stuff
she looks so tough
I had to follow her all the way home
the things went bad, I met her dad
he said you better leave my daughter alone.

Well I couldn't sleep a wink for trying
I saw the rising of the sun
and all night long my heart was falling
you're the one, you're the one
you're the one, you're the one
young blood, young blood, young blood
I can't get you out of my mind
young blood, young blood, young blood
I can't get you out of my mind.

A shot of rhythm and blues
(Thompson)

Nahráno: 1.8. 1963, Playhouse Theatre, Manchester
Odvysíláno: 27.8. 1963, Pop go the Beatles
Producent: Terry Henebery

Píseň hrála kapela během roku 1962, zpíval Lennon.
Well if your hands start a clappin'
and your fingers start a'poppin'
and your feet start a movin' around.

And if you start to swing and sway
when the band starts to play
a real cool way out sound.

And if you get to can't help it
and you can't sit down
you feel like you gotta move a round.

You get a shot of rhythm and blues
with just a little rock and roll on the side
just for good measure.

Get a pair of dancin' shoes
well with your lover by your side
don't you know you're gonna have a rockin' time, c'mon!

Don't you worry 'bout a thing if you start to dance and sing
and chills comin' up on you
and if the rhythm finally gets you and the beat gets you too
well here's something for you to do.

Get a shot of rhythm and blues ...

Get a pair of dancin' shoes ...

Don't you worry 'bout a thing ...

Get a shot of rhythm and blues
get a pair of dancin' shoes
get a shot of rhythm and blues
well with your lover by your side
don't you know you're gonna have a rockin' time, c'mon.

Don't you worry 'bout a thing ...

some other guy now

just threw water hold my hand
I’m the lonely one as lonely as I can feel all right.

Some other guy now
is sippin’ up the honey like a yellow dog
some other guy now
has taken my love just like I’m gone
some other guy now
has taken my love away from me
I’m the lonely one as lonely as I can feel all right.

Some other guy
is makin’ me very very mad
some other guy now
is breaking my padlock off my pad
some other guy now
she was the first best girl I ever had
I’m the lonely one as lonely as I can feel all right
I’m a talkin’ to you right now.

Oh jsi na mě hodná, dovedeš mě potěšit
když jsem smutný
a navěky tě budu milovat
a vše, co mohu dělat, je děkovat ti holka, děkuji ti.

Mohl bych říct světu pár věcí o naší lásce
vím, holčičko, jen blázen by pochyboval o naší lásce

a navěky tě budu milovat
a vše, co mohu dělat, je děkovat ti holka, děkuji ti

But how many many many nights go by

You should hear what they say about you cheat cheat

what can I do and it's true
don't want nobody nobody cause baby it's you

Ša lalalala ...

Není to tvůj úsměv
co mě chytlo za srdce
není to tvůj polibek
co mě rozpláče.

Ale tolik tolik tolik nocí je pryč
já sedím doma sám a pláču pro tebe, co mám dělat
nemůžu si pomoct, protože je to tebou, holka
je to tebou.

Měla bys slyšet, co o tobě říkají, podvádíš, švindluješ
říkají, říkají, žes nikdy nikdy nebyla věrná.

Ach nevadí, co říkají
vím, miluji tě už dlouho
co můžu dělat, je to tak
nechci nikoho nikoho, jen tebe, zlato
jenom tebe.

Ale tolik tolik tolik nocí je pryč
já sedím doma sám a pláču pro tebe, co mám dělat
nechci nikoho nikoho, jen tebe, zlato
jenom tebe
nenechávej mě samotného
pojďme domů
holka, chci tě.

Producent: neznámý

Tuto píseň hráli Beatles v letech 1957-1962. Zpíval ji většinou John.
Oh Carol, don't let him
steal your heart away
well I've got to learn to dance
if it takes me all night and day.

Well come into my machine so we can move on out
I know a jumping little joint where we can jump and shout
it's not too far back on the highway not too long a ride
you take your car along and you park it outside
a little cutie takes your hat and you can thank her, ma'am
'cause every time you're gonna drive, you find the joint is jammed.

Oh Carol, don't let him
steal your heart away
well I've got to learn to dance
if it takes me all night and day.

Well if you want to hear some music like the boys all play
hold tight, tap your foot, don't let it carry you away
don't let the heat overcome you 'cause they play so loud
while the music will treat you when they get a crowd
well you can dance I know you will, you thought
I got my eyes on you baby 'cause you dance so good.

Don't let him
steal your heart away
I've got to learn to dance
if it takes me all night and day
well I've got to learn to dance
if it takes you all night and day.

Lay down your arms

There ain’t no reason for you to declare
war on the one that love you so
so forget the other boy
‘cause my love is real
come off your battle field.

Lay down your arms
and love me peacefully
lay down your arms
and love me tenderly
use your arms to hold me tight
baby I don’t fight no more.

The weapons you’re using are hurting me bad
and some day you’re gonna see
‘cause my love for you, baby
is the truest you’ve ever had
a soldier of love at heart to be.

Lay down your arms
and love me peacefully
lay down your arms
and surrender to me

‘cause I’m the one that love you so.

Yeah soldier of love
baby lay down your arms
yeah soldier of love

maybe someday soon it'll change and you'll be mine.

Crying, do do do do, tear keep a falling all night long
waiting, do do do do, it seems so useless I know it's wrong
keep a crying, waiting, hoping you'll come back
maybe someday soon it'll change and you'll be mine
crying, waiting, hoping.

Nemám tě rád, ale miluji tě
zdá se, že stále na tebe myslím
chováš se ke mě hrozně
šíleně tě miluju
máš nade mnou opravdu velkou moc
máš nade mnou opravdu velkou moc
máš nade mnou opravdu velkou moc
máš nade mnou opravdu velkou moc, holka.

Nechci tě, ale potřebuji tě
nechci tě líbat, ale prostě musím
chováš se ke mě hrozně
moje láska je silná
máš nade mnou opravdu velkou moc
máš nade mnou opravdu velkou moc
máš nade mnou opravdu velkou moc
máš nade mnou opravdu velkou moc, holka.

máš nade mnou opravdu velkou moc, holka.

To know know know her

just to see her smile
makes my life worth while
yes just to know know know her

and I do and I do and I do.

I’ll be good to her
I’ll make love to her
everyone says there’ll come a day
when I walk along side of her
yes just to know know know her
is to love love love her
and I do and I do and I do.

Why can’t she see
how blind can she be
some day she’ll see
that she was meant just for me.

To know know know her

just to see her smile
makes my life worth while

Odvysíláno: 23.7. 1963, Pop go the Beatles
Producent: Terry Henebery

A taste of honey tasting much sweeter than wine.

I dream of your first kiss and then
I feel upon my lips again
a taste of honey tasting much sweeter than wine.

I will return, yes will return
I'll come back for the honey and you.

Yours was the kiss that awoke my heart
there lingers still though we're far apart
a taste of honey tasting much sweeter than wine.

I will return, yes will return
I'll come back for the honey and you.

Med je mnohem sladší než víno.

Sním o tvém prvním polibku a najednou

I saw her standing there
(McCartney-Lennon)

Nahráno: 16.10. 1963, Playhouse Theatre, Londýn
Odvysíláno: 20.10. 1963, Easy beat
Producent: Ron Belchier

Podle Paula se John ošíval nad úvodním veršem (She was just seventeen/Never been a beauty queen) a nahradil jej pouličním žargonem (She was just seventeen/you know what I mean).
Well she was just seventeen
you know what I mean
and the way she looked
was way beyond compare.

So how could I dance with another
oh when I saw her standing there?

Well she looked at me
and I I could see
that before too long
I'd fall in love with her.

She wouldn't dance with another
oh when I saw her standing there.

Well my heart went boom
when I crossed that room
and I held her hand in mine!

Well we danced through the night
and we held each other tight
and before too long
I fell in love with her.

Now I'll never dance with another
oh since I saw her standing there?

Oh we danced through the night ...

Now I'll never dance with another
oh since I saw her standing there
oh since I saw her standing there
oh since I saw her standing there.

Bylo jí pouhých sedmnáct
víte, co tím myslím
a přitom vypadala
jako žádná jiná.

Tak jak jsem mohl tančit s jinou
když jsem ji tam viděl stát?

Podívala se na mě
a já jsem mohl vědět
že mi nebude dlouho trvat
abych se do ní zamiloval.

Nebude už tančit s nikým jiným
když jsem ji tam viděl stát.

Srdce se mi silně rozbušilo
když jsem prošel sálem
a sevřel její ruku v mé!

Tančili jsme spolu celou noc
přitisknuti jeden na druhého
a netrvalo dlouho

I never knew that a day like today laid before us
I’ve got the sun in my heart and my heart’s in the sun
skies are as bright as your eyes, the horizon is open
love is a ceiling, feelings are reeling free as the air.

Forever on and forever, forever on side by side
who ever knew that we two could be free as we’d fancied
fancy is free but are we who are bound to each other by love
to each other by love?

Who ever knew that we two could be free as we’d fancied
fancy is free but are we who are bound to each other by love
to each other by love
to each other by love
to each other by love?

Johnny B. Goode
(Berry)

Nahráno: 7.1. 1964, Playhouse Theatre, Londýn
Odvysíláno: 15.2. 1964, Saturday club
Producent: Bernie Andrews

Tuto píseň hráli Beatles v letech 1957-1962. Zpíval ji většinou John.
Deep down in Louisiana, close to New Orleans
way back up in the woods among the evergreens
there stand a country cabin made of clay and wood
where lives a young country boy named Johnny B.Goode
he never ever learned to read or write a book so well
but he could play his guitar just like a-ringing a bell.

Go go go Johnny go go go
go Johnny go go go
go Johnny go go go
go Johnny go go go
ah Johnny B. Goode!

He used to carry his guitar in a gunny sack
sit beneath the trees by the railroad track
oh sitting and a-playing in the shade
drumming to the rhythm that the drivers made
people passing by used to stop and say
my oh my that country boy can play.

Go go go Johnny ...

Well his mama told him someday you will be a man
and you will be the leader of a big old band
many people coming from miles around
to hear you play your music till the sun goes down
maybe some day your name will be in light
saying Johnny B. Goode tonight!

Go go go Johnny ...

Long distance in formation, give me Memphis Tennessee
help me find the party trying to get in touch with me
she could not leave her number, but I know who placed the call
'cause my uncle took the message and he wrote it on the wall.

Help me, information, get in touch with my Marie
she's the only one who'd phone me here from Memphis Tennessee
her home is on the south side, high up on a ridge
just a half a mile from the Mississippi Bridge.

Help me, information, more than that I cannot add
only that I miss her and all the fun we had
but we were pulled apart because her mom did not agree
and tore apart our happy home in Memphis Tennessee.

Last time I saw Marie she's waving me good-bye
with hurry home drops on her cheek that trickled from her eye
Marie is only six years old information please
help me get in touch with her in Memphis Tennessee.

for I don't care too much for money
money can't buy me love.

I'll give you all I've got to give
if you say you love me too
I may not have a lot to give

Nemůžeš si koupit lásku, ach lásku
nemůžeš si koupit lásku.

Koupím ti prsten s diamantem, miláčku
pokud ti to dělá dobře
dostaneš všechno, má lásko
jestli ti to dělá dobře
nekoukám tolik na peníze
za peníze si nemůžeš koupit lásku.

Dám ti všechno, co mám
jestli řekneš, že mě také miluješ
možná toho nemám moc, co bych ti dal
ale co mám, to ti dám
nekoukám tolik na peníze
za peníze si nemůžeš koupit lásku.

Nemůžeš si koupit lásku
každý mi řekne, že je to tak
nemůžeš si koupit lásku
ne ne ne ne!

Řekni, že nemusíš mít prsteny s diamanty
a budu spokojený
řekni mi, že chceš takové věci
které nekoupíš za peníze
nekoukám tolik na peníze
za peníze si nemůžeš koupit lásku.

Nemůžeš si koupit lásku
každý mi řekne, že je to tak
nemůžeš si koupit lásku

Píseň z brodwayského hitu Mereditha Willsona The music Man nazpívala v roce 1958 jedna z oblíbených Paulových zpěvaček Peggy Leeová. Píseň zůstala v repertoáru Beatles po léta 1961-4. Vytahovali ji ve vhodných okamžicích, kdy chtěli oslovit širší publikum.
These were bells on a hill
but I never heard them ringing
no I never heard them at all
till there was you.

There were birds in the sky
but I never saw them winging
no I never saw them at all
till there was you.

Then there was music
and wonderful roses
they tell me in sweet
fragrant meadows of dawn and dew.

There was love all around
but I never heard it singing
no I never heard it at all
till there was you.

Then there was music
and wonderful roses

Na kopci stála zvonice
ale nikdy jsem neslyšel zvonit její zvony
ne, nikdy jsem je neslyšel
dokud jsi nepřišla ty.

Na obloze létali ptáci
ale nikdy jsem je neviděl mávat křídly
ne, nikdy jsem je neviděl
dokud jsi nepřišla ty.

Pak hrála hudba
a nádherné růže
mi sladce vyprávěly
voněla louka, svítalo a padla rosa.

Všude kolem byla láska
ale nikdy jsem ji neslyšel zpívat
ne, nikdy jsem ji neslyšel
dokud jsi nepřišla ty.

Pak hrála hudba

Rozhovor Briana Matthew s Beatles.
Brian: the next few minutes we're in the lap of the gods and the hands of the Beatles. In my young days, when I was a lad, they used to have actors in films and now that they...
Paul: Yes?
John: Hey! Listen!
Paul: It's all changed now, Brian. They're not doing that, no actors.
John: It's all changed now.
Brian: But this is what I wonder, in those days the actors used to say their best bits were left on the cutting room floor, did you find that?
John: No no no, those were the good bits in the film, you should have seen the rest!
Brian: Yes?
John: Rubbish!
Brian: Was it really?
John: Even worse, yes.
Brian: Who was worst?
John: Oh, Paul.
Brian: I see.
Paul: I think John was about the worst.
John: No, it was you.
Paul: Oh, Ringo was very good, he was...he's a good lad.
Brian: He was, they're saying he's a new Charlie Chaplin. Do you think that's right?
John: He was miming!
Paul: You too, with Jason.
John: Oh yes, he's an old one. Okay, Ring?
Brian: Beginning to look like it. Now then...
Ringo: All right, John. Can you hear me?
Paul: Can you hear him? Hello!
Brian: Not really, I hope not, I hope not!
John: We brought you the flowers, Ring.
Brian: He's not allowed to talk.
Ringo: Eh?
John: We brought you the flowers.
Ringo: Oh, good.
John: And the grapes.
Ringo: Oh, I like grapes.
Paul: He likes grapes.
George: We've been to Portugal.
Brian: Guess who's, guess who's top of the pops in Portugal then.
All: Who??
Brian: Los Beatles!
John: Os Beatles? Great, great laugh!
Brian: I don't suppose you know the title of your film in portuguese?

but when I get home to you
I find the thing that you do
will make me feel alright.

You know I work all day
to get you money to buy you things
and it's worth it just to hear you say
you're gonna give me everything
so why on earth should I moan
cos when I get you alone
you know I feel okay.

When I'm home everything seems to be alright
when I'm home feeling you holding me tight tight yeah.

It's been a hard day's night
and I've been working like a dog ...

Cos when I get you alone

Odvysíláno: 30.3. 1964, From us to you
Producent: Bryant Marriott

Alan Freeman hovoří s George Harrisonem.
Alan: George, is it true that you're a connoisseur of the classics?
George: No, it's just a rumour, a rumour.
Alan: Just a rumour?
George: Hmm.
Alan: Do you enjoy singing Beethoven?
George: No! Been singing it for twenty-eight years now, you know.
Alan: For how long?
George: Twenty-eight years.
Alan: That's incredible. Could you manage one more performance?
George: Um, possibly.
Alan: Oh, go on, say yes.
George: Yes, thank you.

Roll over Beethoven
(Berry)

Nahráno: 28.2. 1964, Piccadilly Theatre, Londýn
Odvysíláno: 30.3. 1964, From us to you
Producent: Bryant Marriott

"Beethoven a Čajkovskij byli včera, tohle je zvuk dneška."
Well I'm gonna write a little letter
gonna mail it to my local D.J.
it's a rockin' little record
I want my jockey to play
roll over Beethoven, I gotta hear it again today.

You know my temperature's risin'
and the jukebox's blowin' a fuse
my heart's beatin' rhythm
and my soul keeps singing the blues
roll over Beethoven and tell Tchaikovsky the news.

Well if you're feeling like it
go get your lover and reel and rock it
roll it over and move on up
a trifle further and reel and rock it
roll it over, roll over Beethoven rockin' in two by two, oh.

Well early in the mornin'
I'm a givin' you the warnin'
don't you step on my blue suede shoes
hey diddle diddle
I will play my fiddle
ain't got nothing to lose
roll over Beethoven and tell Tchaikovsky the news.

You know she wiggles like a glow worm
dance like a spinnin' top
she's got a crazy partner
ought to see her reel and rock
as long as she's got a dime
the music will never stop
roll over Beethoven, roll over Beethoven
roll over Beethoven, roll over Beethoven
roll over Beethoven beat to these rhythm and blues.

Napíšu krátký dopis
pošlu ho místnímu diskžokeji
je to rocková deska, co tě nažhaví
chci, aby ji můj diskžokej hrál
zabal to, Beethovene, chtěl bych to zas slyšet.

Víte, stoupá mi teplota
a jukebox vyhazuje pojistky
moje srdce bije do rytmu
a moje duše si zpívá blues
zabal to, Beethovene a řekni o tom Čajkovskému.

Fajn, pokud cítíte to, co já
vemte svou holku a běsněte a pařte
tancujte a hejbejte sebou
zalaškujte si a běsněte a pařte
křepčete, zabal to, Beethovene, je to na čtyři doby.

Tak časně ráno
mám pro vás jedno upozornění
nešlapte na moje modré semišky
hej trochu se budu flákat
zahraji si tu svoji
nemám co ztratit
zabal to, Beethovene a řekni to Čajkovskému.

Ta holka se třepetá jako světluška
točí se jako káča
má divokýho partnera
měl bys ji vidět, když to rozbalí
dokud bude mít jediný desetník
tahle hudba nikdy nepřestane hrát
zabal to, Beethovene, zabal to, Beethovene
zabal to, Beethovene, zabal to, Beethovene
zabal to, Beethovene a uznej tenhle rhythm and blues.

All my loving
(Lennon-McCartney)

Nahráno: 28.2. 1964, Piccadilly Theatre, Londýn
Odvysíláno: 30.3. 1964, From us to you
Producent: Bryant Marriott

All my loving napsal Paul během turné s Roy Orbisonem jako báseň, když se holil. Později u piana připsal hudbu.
Close your eyes and I'll kiss you
tomorrow I'll miss you
remember I'll always be true
and then while I'm away
I'll write home every day
and I'll send all my loving to you.

I'll pretend that I'm kissing
the lips I am missing
and hope that my dreams will come true
and then while I'm away
I'll write home every day
and I'll send all my loving to you.

All my loving I will send to you
all my loving, darling I'll be true.

Close your eyes and I'll kiss you
tomorrow I'll miss you
remember I'll always be true
and then while I'm away
I'll write home every day
and I'll send all my loving to you.

All my loving ...

All my loving all my loving
all my loving I will send to you.

Zavři oči a já tě políbím
zítra tě už nepotkám
pamatuj, že budu vždy věrný
a pak, až budu pryč
budu psát domů každý den
a posílat ti všechnu svou lásku.

a pak, až budu pryč
budu psát domů každý den
a posílat ti všechnu svou lásku.

Všechnu svou lásku ti budu posílat
celou svou lásku, miláčku, bude to tak.

Zavři oči a já tě políbím
zítra tě už nepotkám
pamatuj, že budu vždy věrný
a pak, až budu pryč
budu psát domů každý den
a posílat ti všechnu svou lásku.

Všechno, má drahá ...

Všechnu svou lásku, všechnu svou lásku
všechnu svou lásku ti budu posílat.

Things we said today
(Lennon-McCartney)

Nahráno: 14.7. 1964, Broadcasting house, Londýn
Odvysíláno: 16.7. 1964, Top gear
Producent: Bernie Andrews

Píseň napsal McCartney na dovolené s Jane Asher na Bahamách v květnu 1964.
You say you will love me
if I have to go
you'll be thinking of me
somehow I will know
someday when I'm lonely
wishing you weren't so far away
then I will remember
things we said today.

You say you'll be mine girl
stil the end of time
these days such a kind girl
seems so hard to find
someday when we're dreaming
deep in love not a lot to say
then we will remember
things we said today.

Me I'm just the lucky kind
love to hear you say that love is love
and though we may be blind
love is here to stay and that's enought.

To make you mine girl
be the only one
love me all the time girl
we'll go on and on
someday when we're dreaming
deep in love not a lot to say
then we will remember
things we said today.

Me I'm just the lucky kind ...

To make you mine girl
be the only one
love me all the time girl
we'll go on and on.

Říkáš, že mě budeš milovat
a jestli budu muset odejít
budeš na mě myslet
nějak to vycítím

a ačkoli jsme možná slepí
láska tu zůstane a to stačí.

Abys byla moje holka
jedna jediná
měj mě stále ráda, holka
bude to tak navždy
některé dny jsme zasnění
beznadějně zamilovaní, nemusíme nic říkat
jednou si vzpomenem
na to, co jsme si dnes řekli.

Jsem teď ten nejšťastnější tvor ...

Abys byla moje holka

(Lennon-McCartney)

Nahráno: 17.11. 1964, Playhouse Theatre, Londýn
Odvysíláno: 26.11. 1964, Top gear
Producent: Bernie Andrews

My love don't give me presents
I know that she's no peasant
only ever has to give me
love forever and forever
my love don't give me presents
turn me on when I get lonely
people tell me that she's only
fooling I know she isn't.

She don't give boys the eye
she hates to see me cry
she is happy just to hear me
say that I will never leave her
she don't give boys the eye
she will never make me jealous
gives me all her time as well as
loving don't ask me why.

She's a woman who understands
she's a woman who loves her man.

My love don't give me presents
I know that she's no peasant
only ever has to give me
love forever and forever
my love don't give me presents
turn me on when I get lonely

Má lásko, nedávej mi dárky
vím, že není žádná vesnická husa
musí mi dávat jenom
lásku navěky věků
má lásko, nedávej mi dárky
nastartuje mě, když se cítím sám
lidé mi říkají, že je jen
pošetilá, ale já vím, že není.

Nevšímá si chlapců
nerada mě vidí plakat
je šťastná, když mě slyší
říkat, že ji nikdy neopustím
nevšímá si chlapců
nikdy mě nedonutí žárlit
obětuje mi všechen svůj čas a také
lásku, neptej se mě proč.

Je to žena, která mi rozumí
je to žena, která miluje svého muže.

Má lásko, nedávej mi dárky
vím, že není žádná vesnická husa
musí mi dávat jenom
lásku navěky věků
má lásko, nedávej mi dárky

Sweet little sixteen
(Berry)

Nahráno: 10.7. 1963, Aeolian Hall, Londýn
Odvysíláno: 23.7. 1963, Pop go the Beatles
Producent: Terry Henebery

Tuto píseň hráli Beatles v letech 1957-1962. Zpíval ji většinou John.
They’re really rockin’ in Boston
Philadelphia, P.A.
deep in the heart of Texas
way down in Frisco bay
all over St. Louis
way down in New Orleans
all the cats wanna dance with
sweet little sixteen.

Sweet little sixteen
she’s just got to have
about a half a million
a-framed autographs
her wallet’s filled with pictures
she gets them one by one
becomes so excited
oh won’t you look at her run, boy!

Oh mommy, mommy, please may I go
it’s such a sight to see
somebody steal the show
oh daddy, daddy, I beg of you
whisper to mommy it’s alright with you.

Sweet little sixteen
she’s got the grown up blues
tight dresses and lipstick
she’s sportin’ high heeled shoes
oh but tomorrow morning
she’ll have to change her trend
become sweet sixteen
and back in class again.

Yeah ‘cause they’ll be rockin’ in Boston ...

I can’t forget that you told me
so many promising lies
I’m a-try’n’ to forget these
lonesome tears in my eyes.

You’ve broken my heart, gonna do it again
I can’t forget the spell that I’m in
can’t forget that you told me
so many promising lies
I’m a-try’n’ to forget these

Nahráno: 10.7. 1963, Aeolian Hall, Londýn
Odvysíláno: 23.7. 1963, Pop go the Beatles
Producent: Terry Henebery

I found it out what love is all about
and every day at three when school let’s out
I see my baby, I get weak in the knees
there’s nothin’ shakin’ but the leaves on the trees
my pappy told me there’ll be times like these
there’s nothin’ shakin’ but the leaves on the trees.

We meet the gang and go to rockin’ shows
the cats are stompin’ on their heels and toes
I got my baby, try’n’ to give her a squeeze
there’s nothin’ shakin’ but the leaves on the trees
well why must she be such a doggone tease
there’s nothin’ shakin’ but the leaves on the trees.

She’s got a way that makes me act like a fool
spends my money then she plays me cruel
I’m beggin’ for kisses on my bended knees
oh won’t you give me some more lovin’
baby, please please please.

Though I keep tryin’ hard to make her mine
one day the wind will blow and the sun will shine
till that time she puts my heart at ease
there’s nothin’ shakin’ but the leaves on the trees
she locked my heart and threw away the keys
there’s nothin’ shakin’ but the leaves on the trees.

She’s got a way ...

Though I keep tryin’ hard to make her mine
one day the wind will blow and the sun will shine
till that time she puts my heart at ease
there’s nothin’ shakin’ but the leaves on the trees

Tuto píseň hráli Beatles koncem padesátých let. Zpíval ji George.
Ain't no doubt about it
this must be love
one little kiss from you
and I feel glad all over
oh baby I don't, it's silly
but I'm glad all over.

Yeah the goosepimples baby
'cause I feel so good
when you call me like you do
and I feel glad all over
oh mercy, I'm doggone
and I'm happy
and I'm glad all over.

Your touch goes through me
like an electric wire
and make love
it don't take much luck
to see what I've got
but it shows, yes it shows.

Come on honey Bonnie
give me one more time
everytime you do
well I feel glad all over
oh baby, I don't, it's silly
but I'm glad all over.

Tried to tell you
how I'm cooking inside
when we're cheek to cheek
my temperature is low
fever is high
I can't speak
I'm too weak.

Well come on honey Bonnie ...

Dívka je na mě hodná
víte, je šťastná, jak jen může být
víte, řekla mi to

víte, říká mi to stále
víte, řekla mi to

víte, řekla mi to
je do mě zamilovaná a mě je skvěle.

I'm a loser
(Lennon-McCartney)

Nahráno: 17.11. 1964, Playhouse Theatre, Londýn
Odvysíláno: 26.11. 1964, Top gear
Producent: Bernie Andrews

I'm a loser
I'm a loser and I'm not what I appear to be.

Of all the love I have won or have lost
there is one love I should never have crossed
she was a girl in a million my friend
I should have known she would win in the end.

I'm a loser and I lost someone who's near to me
I'm a loser and I'm not what I appear to be.

Although I laugh and I act like a clown
beneath this mask I am wearing a frown
my tears are falling like rain from the sky
is it for her or myself that I cry.

I'm a loser ...

What have I done to deserve such a fate
I realize I have left it too late
and so it's true pride comes before a fall
I'm telling you so that you won't lose all.

I'm a loser ...

říkám ti to, abys sám neztratil všechno.

Rock and roll music
(Berry)

Nahráno: 25.11. 1964, Playhouse Theatre, Londýn
Odvysíláno: 26.12. 1964, Saturday club
Producent: Bernie Andrews

Just let me hear some of that rock and roll music
any old way you choose it
it's got a back beat, you can't lose it
any old time you use it
it's gotta be rock and roll music
if you wanna dance with me
if you wanna dance with me.

I've got no kick against modern jazz
unless they try to play it too darn fast
and loose the beauty of the melody
until it sounded like a symphony.

That's why I go for that rock and roll music
any old way you choose it ...

I took my loved one over 'cross the tracks
so she can hear my man avail a sax
I must admit they have a rockin' band
man, they were blowin' like a hurricane.

And started playin' that rock and roll music ...

Way down south they had a jubilee
them Georgia folks they had a jamboree
they're drinkin' home brew from a wooden cup
the folks that dancin' where all shook up.

And started playin' that rock and roll music ...

Tak nechte mě poslouchat rock and roll
berte to, jak chcete
je to nářez, nemůžeš ztratit rytmus
pokaždé, když to spustíte
musí to být rock and roll
jestli chceš tancovat se mnou
jestli chceš tancovat se mnou.

Nemám nic proti modernímu džezu
pokud se nepokoušejí hrát příliš rychle
až se krása melodie ztratí
a zní to pak jako symfonie.

Proto chodím radši na rock and roll
berte to, jak chcete ...

Vzal jsem svou milou poslechnout si pár skladeb
tak teď uslyší hrát naživo saxofon
musím uznat, že jejich kapela šlape
člověče, foukají do toho jako hurikán.

Proto chodím radši na rock and roll ...

Tam dole na jihu slavili
chlápci z Georgie dali pořádný flám
pili domácí pálenku z dřevěných šálků
lidé tančili a natřásali se.

A začli hrát rock and roll ...

Ticket to ride
(Lennon-McCartney)

Nahráno: 26.5. 1965, Piccadilly Theatre, Londýn
Odvysíláno: 6.6. 1965, The Beatles invite you to take a ticket to ride
Producent: Keith Bateson

Na svou dobu mimořádná píseň pochází z dílny Johna Lennona.
I think I'm gonna be sad
I think it's today yeah
the girl that's driving me mad
is going away.

She's got a ticket to ride
she's got a ticket to ride
she's got a ticket to ride
but she don't care.

She said that living with me
is bringing her down yeah
for she would never be free
when I was around.

She's got a ticket to ride ...

I don't know why she's riding so high
she ought to think twice she ought to do right by me
before she gets to saying goodbye
she ought to think twice she ought to do right by me.

I think I'm gonna be sad
I think it's today yeah
the girl that's driving me mad
is going away.

She's got a ticket to ride ...

I don't know why she's riding so high
she ought to think twice she ought to do right by me

Myslím, že dnes budu mrzutý
myslím, že dnes ano
dívka, do které jsem blázen
odjíždí pryč.

Už má jízdenku
už má jízdenku
už má jízdenku
ale vůbec jí to nezajímá.

Řekla, že život se mnou
ji jenom ničí
že nikdy nebyla svobodná
když bych byl poblíž.

Už má jízdenku ...

Nevím, proč na mě dělá ramena
měla by zvážit svá slova a být ke mně slušná
předtím, než mi řekne sbohem
měla by zvážit svá slova a být ke mně slušná.

Myslím, že dnes budu mrzutý
myslím, že dnes ano
dívka, do které jsem blázen
odjíždí pryč.

oh girl, you look so fine
just a-rockin' and a-rollin'
girl I said I wish you were mine.

You make me dizzy miss Lizzy
when you call my name
oh baby
say you're driving me insane
come on, come on, come on miss Lizzy
I want to be your lover man.

Come on give me fever

Pojďte a rozpalte mě
vložte svou malou ruku do mé
dostávám z Vás závrať, slečno Lizzy

jenom tanči rock and roll
holka, jak si přeji, abys byla má.

Dostávám z Vás závrať, slečno Lizzy
když vyslovíte moje jméno

pojď, pojď, pojď, pojď holka
chci být tvůj milenec.

Ringo: Arf arf arf arf!
All: (laughter)
Rodney: ..."and how about him singing...". Well, what will you sing for us, Ringo? Will you say a few words?
Ringo: Hello there, kiddies! I'd like to sing a song for you today called Matchbox. There you go!

Ringo: Don't you get smart with me, you know!

Povídám, sedím tady, pozoruji
díru v šatech velikosti krabičky od sirek
povídám, sedím tu, žasnu
nad dírou v šatech velikosti krabičky od sirek
nemám sirky, ale jsem si jist
že mám před sebou dlouhou cestu.

Jsem starej chudák
a jsem daleko od domova
jsem starej chudák
a jsem daleko od domova
nikdy nebudu šťastný, protože všechno
co jsem kdy udělal, bylo špatné.

Jestli nechceš moje broskve, zlato
prosím, netřes mým stromem
jestli nechceš moje broskve, zlato
prosím, nech na pokoji můj strom
mám pro tebe novinky, holka
nech mě trápit se.

Povídám, sedím tady, pozoruji
díru v šatech velikosti krabičky od sirek
povídám, sedím tu, žasnu
nad dírou v šatech velikosti krabičky od sirek
nemám sirky, ale jsem si jist

Odvysíláno: 18.5. 1964, From us to you
Producent: Bryant Marriott

I forgot to remember to forget her
I can't seem to get her off my mind
I thought I'd never miss her
but I've found out somehow
I think about her almost all the time.

Well the day she went away
I made myself a promise
that I'd soon forget we'd ever met
but something sure is wrong
'cause I'm so blue and lonely
I forgot to remember to forget.

Well the day she went away
I made myself a promise

'cause I'm so blue and lonely

Lee: Playing a harp?
John: Harmonica I play on Love me do, harp on this one, little, goes in the organ.
Lee: But it goes in and out? Do you wanna do this announcement? Well, go on, you go ahead, no, it's alright. Tell them... tell them about the next song.

Producent: Terry Henebery

Tuto píseň hráli Beatles v letech 1957-1962. Zpíval ji většinou John.
I'm gonna search this town
from door to door
the love I crave
I can't find no more.

I got to find my baby
I declare there ain't no lie
I ain't had no real good loving
since that woman said goodbye.

You know I hate to see the sun
sinking to the west
'cause I know my whole life's
gonna be one solid mess.

I got to find my baby
I declare there ain't no lie
I ain't had no real good loving
since that woman said goodbye.

Well ever since the day
that she said we were through
I've been nervous
and shook up too.

I got to find my baby
I declare there ain't no lie
I had no real good loving
since that woman said goodbye.

Well I don't care if the last thing
I ever do in my life
Is to find that little woman
make her my wife.

I got to find my baby
I declare there ain't no lie
I had no real good loving
since that woman said goodbye.

just promise me you're always gonna to be
as sweet as you are.

I love you when you're happy
I love you when you're blue

Fajn, pojď krásko
nechceš se mnou chodit
pojď krásko
nechceš si se mnou povídat
pojď krásko
dej mi ještě jednu šanci
zachraňme náš vztah!

Zpomal
holka, teď jsi to trochu přehnala
dej mi trochu lásky
jen trošku lásky
jestli chceš, naše láska bude věčná.

Jo, doprovázel jsem tě
holka, ze školy domů
nosil jsem ti učebnice
ale teď sis našla přítele
dole v ulici
holka, co to zkoušíš?

Trochu zpomal
holka, teď jsi to trochu přehnala
dej mi trochu lásky
jen trošku lásky
jestli chceš, naše láska bude věčná.

Fajn, pojď krásko
nechceš se mnou chodit
pojď krásko

Producent: Ian Grant

Skupina měla píseň na repertoáru od roku 1962.
Well how come you say you will when you won't
say you do, baby, when you don't
let me know honey how you feel
tell the truth now is love real?

But ah ah honey don't, well honey don't
honey don't, honey don't, honey don't
I say you will when you won't, ah ah honey don't.

Well I love you, baby and you ought to know
I like the way you wear your clothes
everything about you is so doggone sweet
you got that sand all over your feet.

But ah ah honey don't, well honey don't
honey don't, honey don't, honey don't
I say you will when you won't, ah ah honey don't.

Well sometimes I'll love you on a Saturday night
sunday morning you don't look right
you've been out painting the town
ah ah baby, been stepping around.

But ah ah honey don't, well honey don't
honey don't, honey don't, honey don't
I say you will when you won't, ah ah honey don't.

říkám ano a ty říkáš ne, miláčku ne.

Mám tě rád, holka, a měla bys vědět
že se mi líbí, jaké nosíš šaty
všechno je na tobě zatraceně báječné
máš odvahu přejít přes poušť.

Ale, ach dobře, miláčku ne, miláčku ne
miláčku ne, miláčku ne, miláčku ne
říkám ano a ty říkáš ne, miláčku ne.

Fajn, někdy tě v sobotu večer miluji
v neděli ráno nevypadáš dobře
bylas ve městě na tahu
ach holka, byl jsem poblíž.

Ale, ach dobře, miláčku ne, miláčku ne
miláčku ne, miláčku ne, miláčku ne
říkám ano a ty říkáš ne, miláčku ne.
